Honley Ladies Choir is a vibrant, lively group of ladies from all walks of life across Huddersfield, who love to sing together, and to bring that music into the community. On the 4th October 2025 they are travelling the M62 from east to west to sing in aid of breast cancer as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They have called their project ‘Abreast The M62’ and you can catch them from 12.30-2pm at Junction 32, outside M&S.

Raising Voices for Breast Cancer Awareness
Choir Musical Director, Emily Reaves-Bradley of Golcar near Huddersfield says: “We are hoping to get as many singers together as we can to raise their voices in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At each venue we will be working with various northern breast cancer charities and services to bring information to the public and using music to encourage people to talk about breast cancer. This is going to be an amazing, fun event that we want everyone to get involved in, and each venue is really excited to see it coming together. You don’t need to be a great singer to join in with us; you just need to be enthusiastic about singing with others, and keen to share the important messages about Breast Awareness. So come along and join us!”
In support of northern breast cancer charities
Charities and services being supported by the choir are Hull and East Riding Breast Friends, Maggie’s Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust Breast Care Team, Manchester-based Prevent Breast Cancer, and Maggie’s Wirral.
